Maddock's room!
Another post from Jaron here, I am so excited that we have finally put the finishing touches on Maddock's room! Here it is, larger than life Emmitt Smith!

I've decided it's my turn to try this blogging thing. I am sitting in my living room at 11:00 at night with Bethany, Maddock, and Jaylee and we are watching Toy Story 2! There are a couple of things that I wanted to share, and hopefully I can get this whole thing to work!
So, for Maddock's third birthday Larry (my father-in-law) invited Maddock and I to attend his Ward's Fathers and Sons. With everything that was going on at work and the fact we had been out of town almost every weekend for the month of May and most of June, I was hesitant to ask for the time off and go camping. I just felt like I really needed to go, even though I thought I was asking for punishment by taking my 3 year old camping!
I was so wrong, we had a great time, and for the most part, Maddock was very well behaved! That Friday I actually squeezed in time to take Maddock golfing with Grandpa Watson, which we had a good time and Maddock is getting to where he can hit the ball out there pretty good these days!
After we finished up golf we went home and packed up the truck and left for the campsite. Maddock was so excited, especially because he had his own flashlight, which you can see in the daylight by the tent he was still holding on tight to it! After we got the tent set up we went to go check out the pond, which had a little mote around the outside of it, then a little hill leading up to the pond. To get over the 4ft wide mote somebody had placed a board down to cross over. We went to the pond and skipped rocks for a while and then Maddock wanted to go back over the bridge. The funny thing is he wanted to go back over the bridge the same way he came the first time, so he ran right through the water to get to the other side of the bridge. Then he fell off the board back into the water and because it was all grassy he couldn't really tell where the water was and was running straight through the water. I finally got him out of there and he was a little shocked and crying to go home. That took me back to my Fathers and Sons days, I don't know that I ever successfully had a dry campout at Brown Creek!
Anyway, we had an awesome time and ate dinner and played around with Grandpa Titus for a while and then we had an awesome, sort of impromptu, fireside where the spirit was strong!
Maddock and I then proceeded to go to bed in the tent, and I brought his video player and we watched Cars until it quit. At that point he started crying and I thought I was in for a long night, but it ended up being just fine and he settled down and slept like a champion. So much so, the next morning I had time to get up and go eat breakfast and come back to the tent to find him still asleep! He was a true champion, and we had an awesome time. He turned 3 years old that Saturday morning! The pictures I added to the blog are taken from my cell phone, and they are grainy enough to think that maybe bigfoot could be in the background! As bad of quality as they are, they are two of my favorite pictures I have. The second is Maddock and Daddy in the tent about to go to sleep. I love my boy so much, he means the world to me and we had a great time. I also love my Father-in-law so much and think the world of him. I love to do things with him and am grateful for all that he does for me and my family. He is so selfless in all he does, and is a great influence in my life.
Maybe this is why I never blog, this post turned into a book!
